Chavtrac Tanka 410 a huge success at the Ploughing
match.
Birr Co Offaly Oct 97:
Following a low profile first showing of the Chavtrac SupaTanka
at the 96 ploughing match Chavtrac and B & M Trading this
year showed a production version of the Chavtrac self propelled
Slurry Tanker unit which is bringing revolutionary changes to
slurry disposal in Ireland. With 4 machines now working with contractors
in Ireland news has travelled and farmers and contractors packed
the Chavtrac/ B + M Trading stand to learn more about this new
technique.
- The factor that has won the Tanka 410 most admiration
has been the ability to spread slurry on soft ground with no damage
to either pasture or underlying soil structure. Contractors and
their customers have found that the vehicle will operate, even
on ground that's difficult to cross on foot. This allows slurry
to be spread throughout the year all round the farm. There is
now no need to have sacrifice areas for slurry or suffer damage
and rutting in gateways and on the pasture which can cause problems
later on.
- The narrow width of the Tanka 410 allows it to
be used on normal stock farms without damage to gates and roadways.
The machine will pass easily through a 10 foot gate.
- The range of spreader options means that the
Tanka 410 will fit any sludge disposal situation. The three options
used in Ireland are :-
- Conventional Splash plate Spreading.
- Slurry booms able to spread Slurry in tramlines
in cereal crops at up to 24metre spacing
- The Veenhuis injector can be used in grassland
when spreading either conventional slurry or other wastes. Injection
reduces smell and improves utilisation of nutrients.
- The Tanka 410 is extremely competitively priced.
The Basic Splash plate version sells for £IR 50,000 with
20m Booms adding £IR5,000 and the 3Metre Veenhuis injector
adding £IR15,000 . These prices are for a ready to run outfit
with flotation tyres delivered into Ireland.
- Demand for the Tanka 410 means that availability
is very limited for Autumn 97. "Book now for Spring 98 "says
Chavtrac MD Richard Price.
