Application Control History

Raven flow control systems became known in the UK following introduction of the Melroe Spra Coupe in 1988. These lightweight high speed crop sprayers provided a low cost spraying system which performed at much higher speeds than was customary in the UK. The machines were imported by Chaviot Sprayers an established manufacturer of crop sprayers.

The Raven controllers proved to be highly accurate and showed a much faster response time and were more accurate,with a wider range than European control systems. Based on this experience Chavtrac became the UK importer of Raven control systems supplying hundreds of systems to the UK market until the company ceased trading in 2001.

During this time a close working relationship developed with between Raven and a subsidiary company Patchwork Technology developing software for Raven's early precision farming systems.

Application control was formed by Richard Price in 1998 to develop the Raven business further in UK and Ireland. Raven control systems are currently sold to a number of manufacturers and fitted to special build projects for agriculture and industry.

In addition Application Control carry out consultancy projects for both large multinationals and small manufacturers based on Richard's experience in the application and positioning markets.
